Obuasi

The Obuasi school is the flagship Bryant Mission Grammar School and was started in 1989. It currently serves over 850 students and is working to increase its size so that it can serve 1,000 children from 2 year of age through junior high school. Children go to chapel each week and there are cooks on site to ensure children receive nutritious meals each day. Students learn mathematics, sciences, social studies, health, history, English, Asante Twi, French, religious studies, crafts, and much more.

This school needs to add at least two more classrooms in order to keep up with its growth. It also needs a computer lab that is powered through solar energy. The computer lab would help the students prepare for further education and the job market. Providing lessons in computer sciences and experience using computers is an effort towards poverty alleviation and has a large impact on each student’s future.

Because of the school’s popularity, we need another school bus to help children travel to school each day. While our current school bus makes multiple trips to and from the school, it still cannot accommodate all the students needing rides to home and school, so an additional bus is needed.
